The Vision Pro is getting its first live ‘immersive’ sports

The Apple Vision Pro, a new augmented reality headset, is introducing "immersive" live sports content, starting with a selection of Los Angeles Lakers games. Users will be able to watch these games in the Apple Immersive Video format, which aims to provide a courtside experience that is impossible to capture in traditional broadcasts. The Vision Pro already has a growing library of immersive content, including a scripted short film, a Metallica concert, and a short film from the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend. The first Lakers game in Apple Immersive Video will be available early next year through the NBA app or the new Spectrum SportsNet app. The full schedule of games will be revealed later this fall, and users will need to have visionOS 26 installed on their Vision Pro to watch the content.
