Asus says new Xbox gaming features coming to older Ally models
Asus has announced that the updated Xbox gaming interface will be coming to its older ROG Ally and Ally X handheld devices. This is in line with Microsoft's confirmation that the new interface will be made available to other Windows-based handheld gaming PCs starting in 2026. While Asus hasn't specified which exact features will be included, the company has confirmed that it will be bringing some of the Xbox experiences to the older Ally and Ally X models, albeit not at the same time as the new ROG Xbox Ally device. The integration of the updated interface may require Asus to keep some of its own Armoury Crate app and similar middleware, making it a significant project to bring the changes to the older hardware. The ROG Xbox Ally and Ally X handhelds are set to go on sale on October 16th, but the pricing has not yet been announced, likely due to the uncertainty surrounding U.S. tariffs.
