George Baldock died in pool accident with no drugs or alcohol involved, inquest finds
George Baldock, a 31-year-old Greek international footballer, died in a swimming pool accident in Athens on October 9th, 2022. A postmortem examination revealed that Baldock had a very large heart, but no drugs or alcohol were involved in the incident. Baldock had recently signed with the Greek club Panathinaikos and had played a club fixture just three days before his death. The former professional footballer, who spent most of his career playing as a defender for MK Dons and Sheffield United, drowned in his own swimming pool, according to the inquest findings.
