Sony sues Tencent over its Horizon Zero Dawn clone

Sony is suing Chinese tech giant Tencent for allegedly copying nearly every aspect of its Horizon game franchise in the development of Tencent's upcoming open-world hunting game, Light of Motiram. The lawsuit claims that Tencent's game is a "slavish clone" of the Horizon series, including the post-apocalyptic setting, character design, and visual elements. The lawsuit also alleges that Tencent had previously approached Sony to license the Horizon IP for a mobile game, but after Sony rejected the offer, Tencent went ahead and announced Light of Motiram, which incorporates many of the elements it had proposed. In response, Sony is seeking an injunction to prevent Tencent from continuing to develop or release the game, as well as monetary damages and the destruction of any materials related to Light of Motiram.
