Google's Pixel 10 may get magnetic Qi2 charging after all

The upcoming Google Pixel 10 smartphone may feature native support for wireless Qi2 charging, making it one of the few Android phones to offer this capability. A leaked image from renowned leaker Evan Blass shows a Qi2 charger attached to the back of a Pixel 10 device, indicating that the phone likely has the necessary embedded magnets to support the fast-charging system. This feature would be a significant upgrade from previous Pixel models, which required a compatible case for wireless charging. The Qi2 standard offers faster charging speeds of up to 15 watts or higher in later revisions, and its magnetic alignment system makes it easier to use charging accessories. Currently, only recent iPhone models and the HMD Skyline smartphone have native Qi2 support, while other popular Android phones like the Galaxy S25 are only "Qi2 ready," meaning they can charge wirelessly but lack the required magnets. If the Pixel 10 does support Qi2 charging directly, it would provide a significant boost to the ecosystem and align with other rumored features of the device, such as a larger display, a new Google Tensor chip, and improved camera and battery capabilities.
