QPR’s Julien Stéphan: ‘The Championship is probably the most difficult league in the world’

Julien Stéphan, the new Queens Park Rangers manager, had been enjoying a break from football for about two months when his wife urged him to return to the pitch. During his break, Stéphan watched 20 to 25 games a week as he waited for his next opportunity, which finally arrived last month when he took over at Loftus Road from Martí Cifuentes. Stéphan previously managed Rennes, guiding them to the Champions League for the first time, and Strasbourg, leading them to their highest position since 1980. The French manager believes the Championship is "probably the most difficult league in the world" and is focused on helping his team find an identity.
