Nintendo launches another Switch Online test program for 40,000 players
Nintendo is launching another Playtest Program for its Nintendo Switch Online service, this time seeking 40,000 participants, double the number of the previous program. The program is open to active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack members aged 18 and above, residing in select regions, including Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom, and others. Participants can apply individually or in groups of up to four, with some data shared between group members. Nintendo will select participants in Japan through a raffle and accept testers from other regions on a first-come, first-served basis. The program will run from July 18 to July 21. While the specific details of the testing are not yet disclosed, it is believed to involve a Minecraft-like game where users can build structures and play with others in a shared world, similar to the previous Playtest event.
