Newcastle United have agreed a £70m deal to sign Stuttgart and Germany striker Nick Woltemade. The transfer is expected to pave the way for Alexander Isak, a long-term target for Liverpool, to join the Merseyside club. Woltemade, a 23-year-old with two Germany caps, had been on the radar of Bayern Munich after netting 17 goals in 33 games for Stuttgart last season. The transfer fee includes £5m in add-ons. The move for Woltemade is likely to open the door for Isak, another highly-rated Bundesliga striker, to complete a switch to Liverpool, who have been keen to secure his services.
