Furious Salford seek independent review into alleged racial abuse of Oluwo at York

Salford City Football Club is seeking an independent review into the alleged racial abuse of their player, Adebola Oluwo, during a pre-season game against York. The club is "extremely disappointed" that North Yorkshire police did not pursue charges against the individual responsible. Salford City has decided to exercise the Victims' Right to Review Scheme to reconsider the decision. The incident occurred on July 11th at the LNER Stadium, where Salford's manager, Karl Robinson, reported hearing "monkey sounds" directed at Oluwo. The match was abandoned 84 minutes in, with both teams and match officials walking off in protest.
