DJI's much smaller Mic 3 can record four subjects at once

DJI, the renowned drone manufacturer, has recently released its third wireless microphone system, the DJI Mic 3. The new model features a significant design overhaul, including a smaller and lighter transmitter, improved mounting options, and a choice of five colors for the windscreen. The Mic 3 now supports up to four transmitters and eight receivers simultaneously, allowing for the recording of four subjects at once, which is a valuable feature for multi-camera shoots. The Mic 3 boasts several audio quality improvements, such as two adaptive gain control modes, three tone presets, and two-level active noise cancellation. It also offers internal dual-file 24-bit and 32-bit float recording, providing the highest possible audio quality without clipping. However, the lack of a 3.5mm mic port for wired lavalier microphones may be a dealbreaker for some audio professionals. The Mic 3 is compatible with DJI's OsmoAudio system, allowing seamless integration with the company's Osmo 360, Osmo Action 5 Pro, Action 4, and Osmo Pocket devices. The microphone kit is currently available for purchase, priced at $329 for a kit with a charging case, two transmitters, and a receiver, or $219 for a single transmitter and receiver.
