Kohler’s new smart toilet cam analyzes your poop

Kohler, a home appliance brand, has developed a smart toilet camera called Dekoda that analyzes users' stool to provide insights into their gut health and potential health issues. The camera, which clips onto the side of the toilet, uses an optical sensor to capture images of the stool in the toilet bowl. The images are protected by end-to-end encryption, and the sensor is designed to point down into the toilet, not towards the user's body. The Dekoda is powered by an AI model that can track bowel movements, identify indicators of gut health, and detect signs of blood in the stool. The collected data is then displayed in the Kohler Health app, which can track the user's stool frequency, consistency, and overall gut health score. The Dekoda is available for preorder at $599, with a required subscription plan costing either $7 per month or $70 per year.
