These 26 Sites Were Just Added to the UNESCO World Heritage List

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has recently added 26 new sites to its prestigious World Heritage List. The list includes a diverse range of cultural and natural wonders from around the world. Among the new additions are the Castles of Augsburg and Würzburg in Germany, recognized for their exceptional Baroque architecture. France's Megalithic Monuments of Brittany, a collection of prehistoric stone structures, also received the prestigious designation. The list also features several natural sites, such as the Odzala-Kokoua National Park in the Republic of the Congo, a vast expanse of tropical rainforest home to a variety of endangered species. Tanzania's Kilimanjaro National Park, known for its iconic snow-capped peak, was also added to the list. These new sites join the existing 1,154 World Heritage properties, showcasing the diversity and richness of our global cultural and natural heritage.
