Amazon Echo Show 8 and Show 11 hands-on: A cuter, more unified smart display
Amazon has unveiled two new smart displays, the Echo Show 8 and Echo Show 11, which feature a sleeker, more unified design compared to their predecessors. The devices boast a slim tablet-like display, a curvier housing, and a 13MP camera with auto-framing technology. However, they lack the motorized rotating display found in the previous Echo Show 10 model. The new Echo Shows support Zigbee, Matter, and Thread, making them better positioned to be the center of Amazon's smart home ecosystem. The updated user interface is straightforward, and the devices offer improved responsiveness thanks to the new AZ3 Pro chip. While the Echo Show 5 was not updated, the new Echo Show 8 ($180) and Echo Show 11 ($220) are available for pre-order and will be officially released on November 12.
