Windows 11 supercharges Bluetooth quality in game chats & voice calls

Windows 11 is set to improve the quality of Bluetooth audio in game chats and voice calls. Microsoft is rolling out a new feature called "super wideband stereo" for Bluetooth LE Audio on Windows 11. This feature will allow users to enjoy high-quality stereo audio while using the microphone, without experiencing drops in audio quality. Previously, Bluetooth headsets would switch to an 8 kHz sampling rate when the microphone was in use, and could only play "super wideband" audio in mono. The new update increases the sampling rate to 32 kHz and supports "super wideband" audio in stereo. Additionally, the update enables the use of spatial audio in Microsoft Teams, even with wireless Bluetooth headsets. This means that the voices of chat participants will now come from the direction of their video stream on the screen. To take advantage of these features, users will need a Bluetooth LE Audio-compatible audio device and a Windows 11 PC running the latest 24H2 version or later.
