New Borderlands 4 Character Short Introduces Rafa's Violent Past
Gearbox Software has released a new character short for the upcoming Borderlands 4 game, introducing Rafa the Exo-Soldier. The short, titled "Yolt," showcases Rafa's violent past with the morally bankrupt Tediore Corporation. The video depicts Rafa proudly wearing a new exoskeleton during a Tediore Corp. showcase. However, when his commanding officer reveals the suit's ability to operate even after the wearer's death and the company's desire to cut expenses, Rafa reacts violently, showcasing his powerful Arc-knives - energy-based swords deployed by his exosuit. The character short has a darker tone than previous Borderlands games, suggesting that Borderlands 4 may not only offer plenty of humor for fans, but also an engaging character-driven story. The game is set to launch on September 12 for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version scheduled for October 3, 2025.
