Tesla's updated Model Y Performance launches for $57,490

Tesla has launched its updated Model Y Performance "Juniper" electric vehicle in the US, offering faster acceleration and a sportier design. The new Model Y Performance can accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds, just 0.8 seconds slower than a Bugatti Chiron Super Sport. However, its EPA range is 306 miles, which is less than the Long Range AWD and Long Range RWD versions. The updated Model Y Performance features subtle changes to the front and rear end, 21-inch Arachnid wheels, a more sporty suspension with adaptive damping, and racier looking seats with bolstered side cushions and electric thigh cushion extenders. The vehicle is priced at $57,490, which is $12,500 more than the base Long Range RWD model and $8,500 more than the LR AWD version. The federal tax credit of $7,500 is no longer available, but state credits may still apply.
