Google Pixel 10 phones will narc on AI-edited images
Google has unveiled its new Pixel 10 lineup, which will be the first smartphones to implement the industry-standard C2PA Content Credentials within their native camera app. This feature allows users to identify whether an image was edited using AI, confirming its authenticity. The C2PA, a coalition designed to enforce transparency on media, will provide information on how an image was created and any modifications made to it. This digital watermark, or "nutrition label," will be present in all photos taken with the Pixel 10 camera and viewable in Google Photos. The latest Pixel phones have enhanced AI-powered camera features, enabling users to apply edits using text or voice prompts. Google has joined the C2PA and is integrating the Content Credentials technology into its various platforms, making it easier to identify AI-edited images across Google's ecosystem.
