An Avatar fighting game is coming out in summer 2026
In 2026, a new fighting game based on the Avatar franchise, titled "Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game," is set to be released. The game is being developed by Gameplay Group International and will feature 12 characters at launch, with more to be added later. The game's combat system will include a "flow system" and support characters that enable special moves, aiming to capture the "energy of classic fighting games" with a focus on fluidity, responsiveness, and online integrity. In addition to the fighting game, a single-player campaign and crossplay support across multiple platforms, including PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam, are also planned. The announcement of this game comes as Paramount is also working on a separate "AAA RPG" based on the Avatar universe, though no release date has been set for that project.
