Your Whistle pet tracker will stop working next month
Tractive, an Austrian company, is acquiring Whistle, a competitor in the pet tracking device market. As a result, Whistle's platform will be shut down, and its pet tracking devices will stop working on August 31st, 2025. Existing Whistle customers can get a free Tractive tracker as a replacement, and their remaining Whistle subscriptions will be transferred to the new Tractive device. Tractive is honoring the remaining Whistle plans, and users with over two months left will have the time added to their new Tractive plan. Tractive's Basic subscription plan starts at $108 for one year and $144 for two years, while the Premium plan is more expensive. Although Whistle device warranties will not be supported, the free replacement Tractive devices will come with a two-year warranty.
