Aston Villa ‘killed’ by spending rules in transfer window, says Ezri Konsa

Aston Villa player Ezri Konsa has criticized the spending rules in football, saying they "killed" the club during the recent transfer window. The Premier League's profitability and sustainability rules, as well as Uefa's financial fair play regulations, constrained Villa's ability to sign new players. The club was only able to make a few first-team additions, including the £30.5 million signing of Evann Guessand from Nice. Despite being open to selling Emiliano Martínez, there was no buyer for the goalkeeper. Villa also moved Jacob Ramsey to Newcastle for £39 million, even though manager Unai Emery wanted to keep him. Konsa has expressed frustration with the financial constraints faced by the club, saying "It's crazy. We're going to have to deal with what we've got."
