Charlie Brown now works for Sony

Sony Music Entertainment Japan and Sony Pictures Entertainment have acquired 80% of the Peanuts franchise for $460 million. The deal consolidates the iconic comic strip under Sony's subsidiaries, which previously owned 39% of the franchise. The Peanuts universe, created by Charles M. Schulz in 1950, has grown into a beloved media franchise with numerous animated series, musicals, and movies, including the classic "A Charlie Brown Christmas." With this acquisition, the Peanuts characters, particularly Charlie Brown and Snoopy, will now officially be part of the Sony entertainment empire.
