Spotify is adding DMs

Spotify is introducing a new direct messaging (DM) feature that allows users to share music, podcast, and audiobook recommendations with each other without leaving the app. The feature is rolling out in select markets and will be available on mobile devices for both Free and Premium users aged 16 and above. Users can access the messaging feature by tapping the share icon when listening to content and selecting a friend to send it to. The shared content and text conversations will be stored in the Messages inbox, making it easier to track. Spotify says the messages are protected by industry-standard encryption, and users can choose to accept or reject message requests, block other users, or opt out of the feature entirely.
