Chelsea close to £35m deal for Ajax’s Jorrel Hato and want RB Leipzig’s Xavi Simons
Chelsea are reportedly nearing a £35m deal to sign Jorrel Hato from Ajax. The 19-year-old Dutch defender can play at left-back or centre-back and has already made over 100 appearances for Ajax's first team. Additionally, Chelsea have opened talks with RB Leipzig regarding a move for Hato's Netherlands teammate, Xavi Simons. The forward could cost up to €70m. The club is looking to bolster its defensive and attacking options, with Enzo Maresca keen to add Hato to provide cover at left-back and in central defense.
