Discord users' IDs and data compromised in customer service provider hack

Discord, a popular messaging platform, has recently disclosed that one of its third-party customer service providers has been the target of an unauthorized party, leading to the compromise of users' information. The compromised data includes a "small number" of government IDs, such as driver's licenses and passports, which some users may have submitted to verify their ages. Discord emphasizes that the platform itself was not hacked, and the breach only affected those who have communicated with the service's Customer Support or Trust & Safety teams. The compromised information may include users' real names, usernames, email and contact details, the last four digits of any associated credit cards, and IP addresses. Discord has stated that the breach did not compromise users' full credit card numbers, physical addresses, or passwords. The company has revoked the provider's access to its system, notified law enforcement, and will frequently audit its third-party systems to ensure they meet its standards.
