Instagram to bring in version of PG-13 system to protect children, says Meta

Instagram, owned by Meta, is introducing a new feature to protect children on its platform. The new system will be similar to the PG-13 rating used in the US film industry, where users under 18 will be automatically placed in a 13+ setting. This will give parents stronger control over their teenagers' Instagram usage. Teenagers will be able to opt out of the 13+ setting, but only with their parents' permission. The move is aimed at providing better safeguards for young users on the social media platform.
