You Can Now Rewind Twitch Live Streams, But There's A Catch

Twitch, the popular live-streaming platform, has introduced a new feature that allows users to pause and rewind live streams. However, this feature is currently limited to Twitch Turbo subscribers or for channels that users are individually subscribed to. The feature is not yet available on mobile devices. Twitch CEO Dan Clancy announced the new feature during a live-stream, stating that it is designed to keep viewers connected to the live stream, with the chat continuing to stay live even when the viewer pauses or rewinds. Twitch streamers will need to activate the rewind and pause options on their end, and the feature is limited to users who are affiliated or partnered with Twitch. Clancy indicated that the feature will eventually be added to mobile devices and will be rolled out to all Twitch users in the future. However, Twitch wants to ensure that the rewind feature cannot be used to sidestep ads on the platform. Additionally, the rewind feature will not be available for DJ channels due to rights issues.
