Layers Of Fear 3 Announced With A Spooky Live-Action Trailer

Layers of Fear 3, the latest installment in the horror game series, has been announced by developer Bloober Team. The announcement came in a video celebrating the 10-year anniversary of the original Layers of Fear game, featuring a spooky live-action trailer and a promise from the CEO that the series is "still alive, still evolving, and still finding new ways to haunt." The game's official website provides limited details, but the William Blake poem "The Sick Rose," the game's logo, and the footage in the anniversary livestream suggest the game will revolve around dealing with the sickness of a loved one, possibly a child named Rose. In addition to the upcoming game, Bloober Team also announced two Layers of Fear novels, adapting the original two games, with the first one set to release in late 2026. The most recent game in the series, the confusingly titled Layers of Fear (2023), was a remake that combined content from the first two games with some new additions. It received a mixed review, with the reviewer noting that the gameplay largely consists of walking, opening doors, and encountering weird scenes. Bloober Team is known for its expertise in the horror genre and has recently achieved critical success with its Silent Hill 2 remake and Cronos: The New Dawn.
