HTC takes on Meta with the Vive Eagle smart glasses
HTC has unveiled a new pair of smart glasses, the Vive Eagle, that aims to compete with Meta's Ray-Ban smart glasses. The Vive Eagle features a fashion-forward lightweight design, open-ear audio, voice-activated AI, and an ultra-wide AI-powered camera. It offers features such as real-time translation in 13 languages, voice commands for taking photos and notes, and a privacy-focused architecture with on-device data storage and encryption. The Vive Eagle will initially be available only in Taiwan for NT$15,600 (around $520), which is significantly more than most of Meta's Ray-Ban models. HTC has not yet announced if the Vive Eagle will be released in other markets, but if it does, it will face stiff competition from the established Ray-Ban brand.
