Andy Saunders

Andy Saunders, who had Down's syndrome, was born in 1963 in Brighton, UK. He attended Hillside school (now Hill Park school) in Portslade until the age of 19, thanks to his father's successful campaign for him to continue his education. After leaving school, Andy worked at a luncheon club, a cafe at Brighton General hospital, and later for 25 years at Safeway (later Morrisons), where he stocked shelves and helped customers. Andy was a devoted fan of the TV show Doctor Who, and was known for his cheerfulness and willingness to help others, which earned him awards for his service.
