Uber is partnering with Lucid and Nuro to build a robotaxi service that will deploy at least 20,000 Lucid electric vehicles over the next six years. The service is expected to launch in a major US city in late 2026, with the Lucid Gravity SUV featuring advanced technology, long-range, and level 4 autonomy capabilities. Nuro will oversee the extensive safety checks, including simulations and on-road testing. This partnership is part of Uber's broader strategy to expand its robotaxi ambitions, having also teamed up with Volkswagen, Wayve, and Baidu in recent months.
