A 20-year-old man has been arrested after a Molotov cocktail was thrown at the San Francisco home of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman early Friday morning. The incident happened around 4:00 am when a suspect âthrew an incendiary destructive deviceâ at Altmanâs home, âcausing a fire to one exterior gateâ before fleeing on foot, according to statement from the San Francisco Police Department. The same suspect then allegedly headed to OpenAIâs offices, where he was âthreatening to burn down the building,â according to the statement. SFPD said that âcharges are still pending at this time.â In a statement, a spokesperson for OpenAI confirmed the incidents and said that âno one was hurt.â Police have not indicated a possible motive behind the attack.
