World Athletics Championships: USA dominate table again as GB suffer worst finish since 2003
The 2022 World Athletics Championships saw the United States once again dominate the medal table, winning the most gold medals (16) and the most overall medals (26). Kenya finished second in both categories with 11 total medals and 7 golds, while Jamaica came in third with 10 medals but only 1 gold. Canada secured the third-most gold medals with 3. Notably, this year's championships marked the first time since 2003 that Great Britain failed to win a gold medal, representing their worst finish at the event since then. In a positive development, Samoa won its first-ever medal at the championships.
