Insta360 Antigravity A1 drone preview: A 360-degree FPV drone unlike anything else

Insta360, known for its 360-degree action cameras, has unveiled its first drone, the Antigravity A1. The A1 is a unique 360-degree FPV (first-person view) drone that comes with a three-part set: the flying unit, OLED Vision goggles, and a dedicated Grip motion controller. The A1 weighs around 249 grams, allowing it to bypass drone license requirements in most regions. It features two ultrawide cameras positioned on the roof and underside, capturing 8K video in a sphere-like canvas. The drone itself remains invisible in the footage, similar to Insta360's "invisible" selfie stick. The drone's control system is different from traditional FPV drones, as it allows the user to look and move anywhere they want, independent of the drone's direction. This is achieved through the Freemotion control system, which uses a point-and-click method for steering. Insta360 plans to offer extensive editing tools for the A1's footage, allowing users to reframe, crop, and reposition the video in post-production. The company is also opening up a co-creation project, where pre-production A1 units will be provided to participants in exchange for feedback, which will be integrated into the final retail version.
