Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7's display is rated to withstand 500,000 folds

Samsung has announced that the display used in its upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 7 foldable smartphone can withstand up to 500,000 folds, which is more than twice the durability of previous models. The company claims that this level of durability means that the display can last for over 10 years with regular use. To achieve this, Samsung has made several improvements to the display's design, including increasing the thickness of the outermost glass by 50% and using high-elastic adhesive and titanium plate to better absorb external impact and distribute shock. These changes have also allowed Samsung to create a thinner profile for the device, making it feel like a regular smartphone. In comparison, previous versions of the Galaxy Z Fold were only rated for 200,000 folds, and independent testing found that the first Z Fold could only withstand 119,380 folds. If the Galaxy Z Fold 7 can indeed live up to its 500,000-fold rating, it would alleviate concerns about the durability of foldable smartphones for most users.
