Uefa puts Israel vote on hold after Donald Trump’s proposed peace plan

Uefa has decided to put on hold its plans to ban Israel from European football competitions. This decision comes after the announcement of Donald Trump's proposed peace plan for the region, which was presented in a joint press conference with Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. The expectation of a decisive intervention by Uefa this week had been growing, with increasing pressure from within the football community and external groups, including the United Nations. However, the recent developments surrounding Trump's peace plan have prompted Uefa to pause any immediate action against Israel. The article notes that Maccabi Tel Aviv is still scheduled to face Dinamo Zagreb on Thursday, indicating that the postponement of the proposed ban will allow the match to proceed as planned.
