TCL's new smartphone uses the latest version of its eye-comfort screen tech

TCL, a late entrant to the modern mobile market, is showcasing a new phone, the NXTPAPER 60 Ultra, at IFA 2025. This device features the latest version of TCL's NXTPAPER eye-comfort screen technology, which aims to strike a balance between e-paper and OLED screens, reducing eye strain without sacrificing color range or refresh rates. The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra boasts a 7.2-inch, 1080p display with a 120Hz refresh rate, powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 processor and 12GB of RAM (with an additional 12GB available via virtual RAM). It also includes a three-camera setup, with a 50MP periscope telephoto sensor providing 3x optical zoom and 6x "lossless" zoom. The phone's key feature is its NXTPAPER 4.0 display technology, which includes hardware-level blue light filtering, a matte anti-glare layer, and flicker-free brightness control. It also offers an "Ink Mode" that switches the display to an E Ink-like presentation. The NXTPAPER 60 Ultra is initially launching in Europe, Latin America, and Asia, with a price range of €499 for 256GB storage and €549 for 512GB.
