US and China agree to agree on a TikTok deal

The US and China appear to be inching towards an agreement on the long-awaited TikTok deal, but the details remain elusive. TikTok's owner, ByteDance, has also expressed gratitude for the efforts of both presidents to preserve the app in the US. Despite multiple reports of the two sides reaching the final stages of negotiations, the specific terms, including a new app for US users, US investor control, and a multibillion-dollar payday for the Trump administration, have not been officially confirmed. The two sides have been granted an extension until December to finalize the deal.
