USA’s Olympic 1500m champion Cole Hocker disqualified from world championships for ‘jostling’

Cole Hocker, the reigning Olympic 1500m champion from the USA, was disqualified from the World Championships in Tokyo for "jostling" during the semi-final race. Hocker, who had won a surprise gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics, was boxed in on the inside and saw an opening on the home stretch. He charged through the gap, making contact with Germany's Robert Farken, and went on to finish second. However, the officials deemed Hocker's actions as "jostling" and disqualified him from the race. Farken, whose rhythm was disrupted by the incident, finished 10th.
