Arne Slot: Liverpool will pay remainder of Diogo Jota’s contract to his family

Arne Slot, the manager of Liverpool Football Club, has confirmed that the club's owner, Fenway Sports Group, will pay the final two years of Diogo Jota's contract to his family. Jota, a 28-year-old forward, tragically passed away in a car accident in Spain on July 3rd, just 11 days after his marriage to his long-term partner Rute Cardoso, with whom he had three young children. Jota's contract was set to run until 2027 and was reportedly worth around £140,000 per week. Slot acknowledged the emotional struggle he and the club have faced in dealing with this tragic loss.
