Amazon adds the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft and Scribe 3 to its writing tablet lineup

Amazon has announced two new additions to its Kindle Scribe lineup of writing tablets: the Kindle Scribe 3 and the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft. The Kindle Scribe Colorsoft is the first Kindle to feature a full-color display, designed to provide a crisp and subtle visual experience. The included pen supports writing in 10 different colors and five highlighter shades. The Kindle Scribe 3 has been redesigned to be significantly thinner and lighter, with a "paper-like" design and reduced writing latency of under 12 milliseconds. Both new models support importing documents from Google Docs and OneDrive, and feature a "texture-molded glass" display and a redesigned LED light system. The new Scribes come with an updated processor and increased memory compared to the Scribe 2. They also feature AI-powered features, including the ability to generate summaries and integrate with Alexa+. The Kindle Scribe 3 will start at $500, while the Scribe Colorsoft will start at $630. A version of the Scribe 3 without a front light will be available for $430. The new devices will be available in the United States later this year and in the UK and Germany in early 2026.
