US joint venture BetMGM helps Entain to beat expectations

Entain, the UK gambling company that owns brands like Ladbrokes and Coral, reported better-than-expected results for the first half of the year. The company saw an 11% increase in underlying profits, reaching £583 million, and a 3% rise in revenues to nearly £2.6 billion. This was largely driven by a flurry of bets on the football Club World Cup and summer tennis tournaments. The strong performance comes as Entain braces for looming tax rises in its domestic market.
