Borderlands 4 Makes CEO "A Little Nervous" Due To The Game's Challenging Sections

Borderlands 4, the latest installment in the popular Borderlands franchise, has Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford feeling "a little nervous" due to the game's challenging sections. Pitchford acknowledges that many Borderlands players are not looking for deep, hard challenges, and some parts of Borderlands 4 might test them more than previous games in the series. However, Pitchford reassures players that they can "grind somewhere" and level up their characters to become more powerful, making the previously challenging areas "trivial." The game has also seen an increase in the difficulty of boss fights and their mechanics. Despite these concerns, Pitchford expects Borderlands 4 to succeed and push the entire franchise above 100 million units sold. The game's $70 price tag has been a topic of online discussion, but Pitchford believes the game delivers so much value that it would still be worth it at an even higher price.
