Google wants to see your feet (for virtual shopping purposes)

Google is allowing users in the US to try on shoes virtually by uploading a full-length photo of themselves. The process involves swapping out the shoes in the original photo with the ones the user is interested in buying, allowing them to see how the shoes look with their outfit. Google advises users to use solo photos with good lighting and a simple background, and not to use photos of children or those without permission. The generated image is an approximation, not a perfect fit, and Google assures that no biometric data is collected or stored. Google has been gradually improving its AI shopping assistant, allowing more specific queries and follow-up questions to narrow down the visual results.
