Bethesda Game Studios has announced that The Elder Scrolls VI: Oblivion Remastered has surpassed 9 million players, just over three months after its surprise launch on Game Pass for PC and Xbox Series X|S, as well as digital versions on those platforms and PS5. The remastered version of the 2006 RPG was developed by Virtuos, which recently experienced job cuts at its French office. Oblivion Remastered has received update 1.2, introducing a new difficulty option and various performance and gameplay fixes. The game currently sits at the No. 2 spot for best-selling game in 2025, with GameSpot's review praising its "astounding visual presentation." Bethesda has expressed gratitude to the players for their engagement with the studio's worlds.
