DJI Mini 5 Pro official: 1-inch sensors come to small drones, plus the longest battery life yet

The DJI Mini 5 Pro is the company's latest compact drone, featuring a 50-megapixel one-inch-type sensor, which is a significant upgrade from the 1/1.3-inch sensor in the Mini 4 Pro. The larger sensor area could result in better image quality, with claims of 14 stops of dynamic range and improved performance in shadow areas and close-range portrait shots. The Mini 5 Pro also boasts enhanced battery life, with a standard battery life of 36 minutes and an extended battery option that can provide up to 52 minutes of flight time, making it the longest-lasting non-industrial DJI drone. The drone also includes features like upgraded obstacle avoidance, faster climbing and horizontal speeds, and the ability to store more video on the drone itself. However, the availability of the Mini 5 Pro in the United States is uncertain, as DJI will not officially sell the drone in the US market. Customers may be able to find it through other retailers, but DJI's warranty support is unclear. The drone will be available in Canada, the UK, Europe, and Japan, with pricing around $769 USD, £689, €798, and ¥106,700, respectively.
