Sainsbury’s recalls two own-brand hummus varieties over E coli fears

Sainsbury's has issued a recall for two of its own-brand hummus varieties due to potential contamination with a strain of E. coli that can produce shiga toxin, a dangerous substance. The affected products are the 315g containers of JS Classic Houmous with a use-by date of September 13, and the 200g tubs of JS Lemon & Coriander Houmous with a use-by date of September 14. The recall is a precautionary measure, and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised customers who have purchased these items not to consume them. The recall is intended to ensure the safety of consumers and prevent any potential health risks associated with the contamination.
