Sainsbury’s recalls two own-brand hummus varieties over E coli fears
Sainsbury's has issued a recall for two of its own-brand hummus varieties due to potential contamination with a strain of E. coli that can produce shiga toxin, a dangerous substance. The affected products are the 315g containers of JS Classic Houmous with a use-by date of September 13, and the 200g tubs of JS Lemon & Coriander Houmous with a use-by date of September 14. The recall is a precautionary measure, and the Food Standards Agency (FSA) has advised customers who have purchased these items not to consume them.
