YouTube Premium adds high-quality audio and 4x playback for iOS, Android and desktop

Google is expanding the availability of YouTube Premium features to more devices. The update includes faster playback speeds (up to 4x) on Android, iOS, and web, as well as the ability to download and watch YouTube Shorts offline or in a picture-in-picture window. The "Jump Ahead" feature for skipping to key moments in videos is now available on smart TVs and game consoles. Additionally, YouTube Premium subscribers can now access high-quality audio (256kbps bitrate) when watching music videos and "Art Tracks" on both the YouTube and YouTube Music apps for Android and iOS. These updates aim to unify the YouTube Premium experience across various devices without changing the core $13.99-per-month subscription.
