Rubio Says Trump Needs ‘Real Chance’ of Ending War to Meet Putin
In a recent statement, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said that President Donald Trump would only consider another meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin if there was a real chance of helping to end the ongoing war in Ukraine. Rubio emphasized that a potential meeting between the two leaders would need to have a substantial opportunity to contribute to the resolution of the conflict in Ukraine. The statement suggests that the Trump administration is unlikely to engage in a meeting with Putin without a clear and tangible path towards ending the war, which has been a major point of contention between the US and Russia. Rubio's comments underscore the US government's stance that any diplomatic efforts with Russia must be centered on addressing the crisis in Ukraine.
