Meta makes Facebook Reels more like their Instagram counterparts

Meta is rolling out changes to Facebook Reels to make the experience more similar to Instagram Reels. The updates include the addition of friend bubbles, which show users which posts their friends have liked, and the ability to send Reels as direct messages. The recommendations engine has also been improved, with Meta claiming it can learn user interests more quickly and recommend newer and more relevant Reels. The algorithm will now consider preferred video length when making recommendations. Additionally, a "Not Interested" button has been added to improve recommendations. Meta is also incorporating AI-powered suggestions for users to explore specific interests in depth.
