Sony Pictures has declared the first trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the “biggest trailer in history” after it beat the previous 24-hour record held by Grand Theft Auto 6. The company announced that, according to data tracking company WaveMetrix, the long-awaited debut video for the next Tom Holland Spider-Man movie pulled in a staggering 718.6 million views in its first day. That’s nearly 250 million more views than the second trailer for Rockstar Games’ yet-to-be-released GTA 6, which generated 455 million views when it premiered last May. It was clear Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans were already looking forward to Brand New Day before its first trailer, but its first few hours cemented that interest even more. Just eight hours after it was published, the video attracted 373 million views globally. For comparison, Deadpool & Wolverine had a 24-hour record of 365 million upon the premiere of its Super Bowl trailer in 2024.
